Hatching Eggs Policy

The Back 40 Acres, LLC is a small family farm, we are NOT a large hatchery. We will do our best to offer hatching eggs, as well as day old chicks. By ordering hatching eggs (chicks) from The Back 40 Acres, LLC, you are agreeing to the following policy and terms:  

• Hatching egg orders will be filled in the order they are received.  Payment must be received before orders are placed.  Exact ship dates cannot be guaranteed at the time of your order, but you will updated as to when you may expect your hatching eggs. 
• Please read product listings carefully when ordering eggs. There is a minimum of 12 eggs for shipping.  We also have a maximum of one dozen per breed, some breeds may have a 6 egg maximum. We are a small farm, and want to sent the freshest eggs possible. Please read listings carefully. 
• Hatching eggs will be shipped UPS. I ship on Mondays, Tuesdays and  Wednesdays (if you live in a state close to Michigan). Shipping is based on location for 12-18 eggs. There is a minimum of 12 eggs to ship. If you are ordering more than 18 eggs, a separate box will need to be sent. Please place a separate order if you are wanting more than 18 eggs. Hatching eggs are shipped with foam shippers or bubble wrap and thick egg cartons, double boxed and with additional packing materials and stickers. If you prefer USPS, pleases let me know. Hatching eggs shipped USPS MUST be picked up at your local post office.
• Hatching eggs are collected several times a day, and we strive to send the freshest eggs possible. We do not wash the eggs and do our best to send the "cleanest" eggs possible. 
• As stated above, eggs are collected several times a day. We do our best to date the eggs and mark them according to the breed. A sheet is sent with the hatching eggs to explain the breed markings on the eggs.
• Shipping hatching eggs is a gamble. We cannot guarantee how the USPS handles your package. We do our best to package them. It is often recommended to order twice as many eggs as the amount of chick you wish to hatch. When you purchase shipped eggs, it is likely you will lose some due to poor handling, which is 100% normal.
• We strive to be honest and offer quality hatching eggs, however as a NPIP verified farm, we cannot accept any returns or exchanges on any poultry or egg purchases. Nothing can return to our property once it has left our property.
• FINAL THOUGHTS--There are NO refunds and NO guarantees on the shipping eggs you purchase regardless of any circumstances. We LOVE helping and teaching others about chickens and chicks. If you message us, we will do our very best to help you in anyway we can. If you send mean and hurtful messages and are hateful for things out of our control, or for things already stated in our terms and policies, please do no order from us. Shipping eggs are very convenient and effective, however, how the USPS and UPS  handle the packages and their service is out of our control. Please contact us if you would like to schedule a local pick-up, instead of having hatching eggs shipped.
